An Initiative on Inclusive education: School children with visual impairment to get digital study material…

Training of teachers and students commences for this initiative.

Under the initiative of inclusive education, now study material will be made available to the visually impaired students of Chhattisgarh digitally through smartphones.

For the smooth operation of this initiative, a teachers’ workshop is being organized from 14 to 23 September at Thakur Pyarelal Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development,Nimora, Raipur.

The workshop was inaugurated by P.C. Mishra , Director of the Thakur Pyarelal Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development, and Managing Director of Samagra Shiksha,Narendra Kumar Dugga was present as the Chief Guest.


In the first and second phases of the training workshop, selected BRP (Inclusive Education) along with visually impaired children studying in class IX are being trained to use the course material with the help of smart phones.

Refresher programs will be organized for the children who were provided smart phones by Samagra Shiksha in the session 2019-20 as the third phase.

Addressing the workshop, Director of Thakur Pyarelal Panchayat and Rural Development Training Institute, Nimora, Mishra wished the students good luck for their future and, motivated the students to become competent academically and to make the best use of this workshop to attain training from experts.

Emphasizing on the identification of differently-abled children in the state, Dugga, Managing Director of Samagra Shiksha said that proper efforts should be made by Samagra Shiksha to secure the future of such students and motivate them towards academic achievements.

He said that the use of technology and digital platforms will be a boon for visually impaired children and will help them become self-reliant .

He further said that in the near future such training programs will be continuously organized through Samagra Shiksha.


The main objective of this initiative is to connect the visually impaired students of the state with mainstream education and to remove any kind of problems faced by such students in attaining holistic education.

The program aims to simplify the methodology of consuming the course material for the visually impaired and available textbooks; course material will become accessible through smart phones.

The help of a Kolkata-based organization namely M Junction is being taken in providing study material to the visually impaired children.
