Handed over housing acceptance letter and house keys to the beneficiaries on festive season

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao attended a housing fair at the Lakhiram Agarwal Auditorium in Bilaspur on Thursday, where he provided housing acceptance letters to 36,663 homeless families in rural areas, promising them a brighter future.
He also symbolically handed over house keys to beneficiaries whose homes have been completed. MLA Dharmjit Singh was present at the event as well.
In his address as the chief guest, Deputy Chief Minister Sao emphasized that owning a home is a dream for many. He highlighted the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana as a means to turn those dreams into reality, stating that the government is dedicated to fulfilling the housing aspirations of the underprivileged.
He shared that this year, over ₹132 crore has been allocated for 33,019 beneficiaries in Bilaspur district alone, with the state government aiming to provide housing for 18 lakh homeless families.
Deputy Chief Minister Sao noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously working to improve the lives of the people, prioritizing villages, the poor, and farmers. He recalled how the Chhattisgarh government quickly initiated the Pradhan Mantri Awas scheme, approving the project just a day after taking office.
He also mentioned that on December 25, the government transferred ₹3,716 crore in bonus dues to 12 lakh farmers, honoring the legacy of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership, the government remains committed to advancing the welfare of rural communities.
MLA Dharmjit Singh reflected on the past decade, noting how Prime Minister Modi has worked tirelessly to fulfill the aspirations of the people. Bilaspur District Panchayat CEO RP Chauhan shared that for the financial year 2024-25, the goal is to approve 50,619 houses in the district. So far, 36,643 houses have been approved, with the first installment released for 33,019 homes, achieving around 93% of the target for previously approved projects. The event was attended by Collector Mr. Avnish Sharan, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Amit Kumar, local representatives, dignitaries, and numerous beneficiaries.
Beneficiaries Express Their Joy
The smiles of beneficiaries lit up the fair as they received their housing approval letters and new house keys. Mr. Vedlal Baghel from Mahmand shared how living in a mud house had exposed him to harsh weather conditions. He expressed his relief after securing a Pucca house. Mrs. Pramila Baiga, a resident of Karka in the Kota development block, remarked that owning a Pucca house has alleviated many challenges, providing her with a sense of security and saving her time and effort. She also mentioned her involvement in the ‘Bihan’ scheme, highlighting how government initiatives have transformed her life
