Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid tribute to Swami Atmanand on his birth anniversary, October 6, recognising his immense contributions to Chhattisgarh as a social reformer and educationist.
Chief Minister Sai highlighted how Swami Atmanand brought the teachings of Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa to life in Chhattisgarh, igniting a movement centred on service to humanity and education.
He dedicated his entire life to uplifting the poor and underprivileged, believing that serving suffering humanity was the highest form of religion.
Deeply influenced by Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy, Swami Atmanand diverted funds collected for monasteries and ashrams towards providing relief to famine victims.
Chief Minister Sai also shared Atmanand’s role in starting the Abujhmad Project, aimed at ensuring respect and fair prices for tribal communities and their produce.
In addition, he established the Vanvasi Seva Kendra in Narayanpur to improve the living conditions of forest dwellers.
The Chief Minister emphasised that Swami Atmanand’s exemplary work in the field of service to humanity remains a source of inspiration for all.
