27% hike in salary for contractual workers; the salary of daily wage earners increased by Rs 4000
Panchayat Secretaries, Patwaris to get salary hike, Police Constables to get Rs 8,000 kit allowance annually
State government allocated an amount of Rs 2000 in the supplementary budget for these announcements
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has made several announcements benefiting government employees in the supplementary budget.
A 4% dearness allowance hike and house rent allowance, as per the seventh pay scale, were announced. All employee categories, including contractual workers and daily wage earners, will also receive a salary hike.
In a significant move to support government employees, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced a 4 percent hike in the dearness allowance (DA) for approximately 5 lakh government employees.
This increase brings the total hike in basic pay to 42 percent. The state government will pay an extra Rs 800 crore to accommodate the DA hike.
The Chief Minister further extended his benevolence to 37,000 contract workers, granting them a substantial 27 percent increase in their salary.
This decision will require an additional Rs 350 crore from the state’s budget. Daily wage earners will receive a hike of Rs. 4000 in their monthly salaries.
This decision will require an additional Rs 240 crore from the state’s budget. Additionally, the 1650 guest teachers will receive a hike of Rs 2 thousand per month, incurring an additional Rs 4 crore from the state’s budget. Furthermore, 6000 Patwaris will now receive a monthly resource allowance of Rs 500, which will require an additional Rs 4 crore from the state’s budget.
In a bid to address house-related concerns, the state government has announced that it will pay the house rent allowance based on the seventh pay scale, with 9 percent for class B cities and 6 percent for other cities, to government employees.
This will require an additional Rs 265 crore allocation from the state’s budget. To support the police force, all police constables will receive a kit allowance of Rs 8,000 annually, adding Rs 40 crore to the state’s expenditure.
The state government will pay a daily incentive allowance of Rs 100 to Mitanin trainers, block coordinators, and help desk operators, resulting in an extra expenditure of Rs 11 crore from the state’s budget.
The salary of 10,000-gram panchayat secretaries received a boost with a special allowance increment of Rs 2,500 for those with less than 15 years of service and Rs 3,000 for those with more than 15 years of service.
This will lead to an additional expenditure of Rs 50 crore from the state’s budget. Additionally, they will now enjoy benefits such as earned leave, an ex-gratia amount of up to Rs 10 lakh, and medical expense reimbursement of up to Rs 5 lakh. The cumulative effect of these measures for government employees will require the state government to allocate a total of Rs 1764 crore.
In a significant development in healthcare services, the Chief Minister announced an increase in the maximum assistance provided under the Mukhyamanti Vishesh Sahayata Yojana from Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh.
To address the challenges faced by needy families in obtaining houses, the Gram Awas NYAY Yojana’ will be launched with a budget allocation of Rs. 100 crore.
The scheme aims to overcome eligibility issues for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana based on the list of Socio-Economic Survey 2011.
During the supplementary budget announcement on Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel shared these crucial announcements, amounting to Rs 2000 crore in total.
