The land under Mandi Board will be developed for commercial purposes. Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain has given instructions to the concerned officials to prepare an action plan for the commercial development of the unused land of the Mandi Board and the construction of Kisan Mall and Kisan Center. Jain reviewed the top priority schemes and programs of the state government at Mahanadi Bhawan(Mantralaya) on Monday.
The Chief Secretary said in the review meeting that a cow dung-based paint manufacturing unit should be set up in at least one Gauthan in each development block of the state.
Similarly, cow dung-based paint manufacturing units should also be set up in Gauthans of urban areas.
He instructed the officials of the agriculture department to construct more and more platforms in the paddy procurement centers before the upcoming paddy procurement season.
He also instructed to encourage farmers for other cash crops instead of paddy, to promote millet crops, to distribute certified seeds, and to organise crop demonstration programs in different areas of the state. In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Subrat Sahoo, Secretary of Agriculture Department Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary of Energy Department Ankit Anand, Special Secretary of Urban Administration and Nodal Officer for Narva, Garwa, Ghurva, Bari program Dr. Ayazbhai Tamboli and other officers of Agriculture Department and General Administration Department were present.
In the meeting, detailed instructions were given to resolve all the cases within the time limit that falls under the Public Service Guarantee Act. For this, the commissioner was instructed to regularly monitor. In the meeting, the cases related to undisputed transfer and distribution, caste and residence certificates, and providing tap connections in urban bodies were reviewed in detail. He also instructed to take necessary action regarding the recruitment of vacant posts of medical personnel under the Health Department.
Agriculture Department officials said that 23 units have started the production of natural paint in Gauthans. More than 55 thousand 884 liters of paint has been produced by these units and more than 31 thousand liters of paint have also been sold. An income of about Rs.60 lakh has been earned from this. About 4662 drains are being developed under the Narva Development Programme. An amount of about Rs.55 crore has been approved for this. More than 29 lakh quintals of vermicompost have been produced in Gauthans of the state.
Under the “Samudayik Baari Karyakaram”, 4494 bari have been developed. About 20 thousand bari are being developed under the state-funded ‘Bari Vikas Yojana’. Farmers are being encouraged to cultivate maize, pulses, oilseeds and vegetables, wheat, ragi, maize, gram, and sugarcane crops. Good quality seeds are being made available to the farmers which in turn increases the area under cultivation of other crops yearly. Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, an amount of Rs 18570 crore has been transferred to the accounts of more than 23 lakh farmers so far.
