Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel paid homage to freedom fighter Amar Shaheed Hemu Kalani at his residential office today on his martyrdom day by offering flowers on his photograph.
On this occasion, President of Chhattisgarh Sindhi Academy Ram Gidlani, Suresh Didlani, Arjun Vaswani, Amar Bajaj, Amar Pachrani, Mrs. Radha Rajpal, Ravi Gwalani and Anesh Bajaj were present.
While remembering Kalani’s martyrdom, the Chief Minister stated that during the freedom struggle, countless brave sons sacrificed their lives to free the country from the slavery.
Among these brave heroes, the country will never forget the sacrifice of the youngest child revolutionary martyr, Hemu Kalani. In 1942, when Mahatma Gandhi launched the Quit India Movement, this 19-year-old teenager jumped into the movement with the slogan ‘Angrezo Bharat Choro’.
He and his companions boycotted foreign goods and urged people to buy local products.
