These devices will be used to spread Information in Gram Sabhas, Haat Bazars etc in local dialect/languages

In the first phase, awareness campaign will be conducted in 80 development blocks of the state with the target of reaching 50 lakh citizens

Raipur. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh Government and UNICEF will jointly run a public awareness campaign for the empowerment of citizens.

Under this campaign, the focus will be on the schemes of health, education, nutrition, sanitation and social security. UNICEF has handed over more than 1100 communication devices, including pico projectors, juke boxes and megaphones, to Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel for this campaign, at his residence office today.

With an aim to reach maximum number of people, these devices will be used in Gram Sabhas, Haat Bazaars, Anganbadi centers and health centers to spread information about government welfare schemes through audio-visual medium in local language.

In the first phase of this campaign, a target has been set to reach 50 lakh people living in the inaccessible areas of 80 development blocks of the state.

Chief Minister has thanked UNICEF the support and cooperation it has provided in the State Government’s efforts to provide better healthcare, nutrition and immunization facilities in the inaccessible areas of Chhattisgarh.

He said that better communication facilities are important for effectiveness of any campaign. Chief Minister said that Mukhyamantri Haat Bazar Clinic scheme is being implemented to provide healthcare facilities in the inaccessible areas of the state,  and so far, nearly 40 lakh patients have been provided medical treatment through 455 medical mobile units.

Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan has succeeded in curbing malnutrition in children and anemia in women. Malaria free campaign has reduced the cases of malaria by 65 percent in Bastar zone.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel gave away the communication devices provided by UNICEF to the volunteers of the ‘Roko Au Toko’ campaign  and the officials of Public Relations Department. It is noteworthy that UNICEF is conducting Roko Au Toko Abhiyan in the state to promote COVID vaccination.

On this occasion, Chief Minister also released several table books of ‘Roko Au Toko’ campaign. Public Relations Department of the State Government in collaboration with UNICEF will provide information about health, education, sanitation, nutrition, social security schemes to the people in the inaccessible tribal areas of 80 development blocks of the state through audio-visual medium.

Under this campaign, localites will be provided information in their local dialect/language. The communication devices, including pico projectors, juke boxes and megaphones handed over by UNICEF will be used by frontline workers,

health workers, educational institutions and volunteer networks for dissemination of awareness messages in Gram Sabhas, Haat Bazaars, Anganbadis, health centres, public events and during village meetings.

On this occasion, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Ankit Anand, Director Public Relations Mr. Saumil Ranjan Choubey, CFO UNICEF Chhattisgarh Mr. Job Zakaria, UNICEF SBC Specialist Mr. Abhishek Singh and Consultant Mr. Chandan Kumar were also present on the occasion.
