Raipur. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has paid tribute to Minimata- the first female Member of Parliament in Chhattisgarh on her death anniversary today.

He paid his respect to this great persona by offering flowers on her oil painting.

Chief Minister said that Minimata’s philanthropic works and her contribution in the reformation of the society will always be a source of inspiration for all of us. Minimata had a simple and easy-going nature.

She devoted her entire life to human service. Minimata is the epitome of women power and social welfare. She played an important role in getting the Untouchability (Prevention) Act passed in Parliament to protect the civil rights of Dalits.

She raised her voice in opposition to child marriage and dowry system, and took this reformation from society to Parliament. She also did remarkable work in the direction of providing employment and industrial training opportunities to the local residents at Bhilai Steel Plant. Labor and Urban Administration Minister Mr. Shivkumar Dahria also paid floral tribute Minimata on the occasion.
