Unveiling of revered Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s statue, the architect of Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, during his visit to Bilaspur on Sunday , paid tribute to revered Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee by unveiling his statue at the newly constructed ‘Atal Parisar’ near Arpa river view. Giving a new direction to the city’s overall development, Chief Minister Shri Sai inaugurated and performed foundation laying of various development works costing more than Rs 26.93 crore.
Addressing the programme, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that revered Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was not just a politician but a visionary of modern India, an eloquent orator, a sensitive poet and the architect of Chhattisgarh state. Chhattisgarh was formed on November 1, 2000 under revered Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji’s leadership, which provided the state with a new direction and identity of development. The statue of revered Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee is a meaningful initiative to preserve his historic personality, ideas and resolve for nation-building. He said the complex will inspire future generations and further strengthen the spirit of nation-building in society.
Chief Minister said the state government has decided to construct ‘Atal Parisar’ in all urban bodies so that revered Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji’s ideas and ideals can reach every citizen. He said Atal Parisars have already been inaugurated in 115 urban bodies of the state on December 25, and the campaign is progressing continuously.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said the state government is fully committed to the comprehensive development of Bilaspur, and the development works worth over Rs 26 crore undertaken today will strengthen urban infrastructure and accelerate civic amenities. He said concrete steps are being taken to make the city modern and well-equipped through development works.
Referring to global circumstances, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that despite the crisis in West Asia, India is standing strong under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said due to the country’s robust foreign policy and effective coordination, the supply system is functioning smoothly and citizens need not worry. He appealed to people to stay away from rumours and act as responsible citizens.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai inaugurated various completed construction works worth about Rs 12.43 crore. These include construction of Atal Parisar, construction of the first floor in Marathi Kanya Shala building, commercial complex in Imlipara and construction of the Protected Reserve Police Centre, which will help strengthen urban development and civic facilities.
Along with this, Chief Minister Shri Sai also performed foundation laying for new development works worth approximately Rs 14.50 crore. These include road, drain and pitching works in the Arpa area, road widening and renovation in Jarhabhatha area, and construction of the statue and platform of Bhagwan Birsa Munda in Uslapur, which will strengthen infrastructure and also reinforce cultural identity.
Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu said construction of Atal Parisar is a matter of pride for the state and a result of the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Sai. He said revered Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji’s contribution cannot be expressed in words and his ideals continue to guide the nation.
Bilha MLA Shri Dharamlal Kaushik, Beltara MLA Shri Sushant Shukla, Takhatpur MLA Shri Dharamjeet Singh, Commissioner Shri Sunil Jain, Collector Shri Sanjay Agrawal, SSP Shri Rajnesh Singh, along with other public representatives and distinguished citizens, were present.
