Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has paid tribute to late Dr. Narendra Dev Verma, the renowned litterateur, linguist and writer of Chhattisgarh’s state-song, on his death anniversary.
Recalling Dr. Verma’s invaluable contribution in the field of literature, Chief Minister said that Dr. Verma played an important role in upholding the identity of Chhattisgarhi language and culture.
Everything that Mr. Verma wrote reached straight to the hearts and minds of people. He gave Chhattisgarh its State-song ‘Arpa-Pairi Ke Dhar, Mahanadi He Apaar…!’
Chief Minister Baghel said that Dr. Narendra Dev Verma’s literary works. are the lively portrayal of Chhattisgarhi culture and tradition.
He translated the novel ‘Subah ki Talaash’ into Chhattisgarhi as ‘Sonha Bihaan’. In the true sense, he was the dreamer of ‘Sonha Bihan’ of Chhattisgarh.
Dr. Narendra Dev Verma gave a new dimension to the glory of Chhattisgarh Mahtari with his writings. His contributions will always be remembered.
