Following High Court Order, Directorate of Public Instruction Issues Corrigendum to Include Speech and Hearing Impairment and Cerebral Palsy Categories
Recruitment Underway for 2,292 Posts, Including 795 in the E-Cadre and 1,497 in the T-Cadre
Raipur, October 12, 2026/ The detailed advertisement for Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026 under the Chhattisgarh School Education Department has been amended to extend the opportunity to apply to candidates with specified physical challenges. The Directorate of Public Instruction, Chhattisgarh, has issued a corrigendum in compliance with an order of the Chhattisgarh High Court, allowing candidates in the speech and hearing impairment and cerebral palsy categories to submit online applications.
According to the corrigendum, the original detailed recruitment advertisement for vacant Assistant Teacher posts in government schools under the E-Cadre and T-Cadre was published on the Chhattisgarh Employees Selection Board website on July 24, 2026. The amendment follows the High Court’s October 9, 2026, judgment in WPS No. 6783 of 2026, Meenakshi Mangalkar and Others vs. State of Chhattisgarh and Others.
Eligibility Criteria Amended for Divyang Candidates
In accordance with the revised notification issued by the Department of Social Welfare on September 11, 2026, the categories of Divyang candidates as suitable for Assistant Teacher posts now include Blind (B), Deaf (D) and Cerebral Palsy (CP). Sub-clause (iv) of Clause 05 of the detailed recruitment advertisement has also been deleted.
The group-wise and category-wise distribution of posts reserved for persons with disabilities has been issued in accordance with the General Administration Department’s instructions dated March 5, 2019. The details specify the distribution of reserved posts among candidates with visual disabilities, hearing disabilities, locomotor disabilities and multiple disabilities.
Recruitment for 2,292 Assistant Teacher Posts
The amended recruitment details cover 795 posts in the E-Cadre and 1,497 posts in the T-Cadre, taking the total to 2,292 posts. The E-Cadre covers Raipur, Durg, Mahasamund, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Balod, Bemetara, Rajnandgaon, Kabirdham, Janjgir-Champa, Mungeli, Raigarh and Bilaspur districts. The T-Cadre covers Bastar, Bijapur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, Kanker, Narayanpur, Sukma, Surguja, Surajpur, Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Korea, Jashpur, Korba, Raigarh, Gariaband and Balod districts.
Online Application Dates to Be Announced Separately
The Directorate of Public Instruction has clarified that candidates in the Blind (B), Deaf (D) and Cerebral Palsy (CP) categories will be given an opportunity to apply online. The Chhattisgarh Employees Selection Board will announce the application dates for these candidates separately. All other terms and conditions of the detailed Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026 advertisement issued on July 24, 2026, will remain unchanged.
