In the year 2021, 1 crore 15 lakh 32 thousand tourists including Indian and foreigner tourists have visited Chhattisgarh.

The land here is full of scenic beauty like forests, wildlife, rivers, mountains and waterfalls. From the Pat region of the north to the hills in the south, many beautiful places and unique beauty carved by nature is an aesthetic boon to this state.
Possessing geographical beauty and cultural heritage, Chhattisgarh has immense potential for tourism development, its ancient heritage, religious places and natural beauty give a rich and pleasant experience to the tourists.
There are many such places of archaeological and religious importance like Sirpur, Bhoramdev which are a unique example of the ancient craft of sacred architectural skills.
The architectural beauty here has been attracting domestic and foreign tourists due to its intriguing and aesthetic nature.

Chattisgarh, is also known as the maternal home of Lord Ram, the glory of the name of Ram is embedded in the culture here.
In the culture of Chhattisgarh, when one meets someone, he is addressed by the name of Ram. The name of Ram is present in every particle here.
Chhattisgarh is the only state in the country which has a temple dedicated to Lord Rama’s mother “Mata Kaushalya” . This temple is situated in Chandkhuri, just few kilometres away from the capital Raipur.
Seeing the glory of this place and the faith of Lord Ram settled in the mind of the public, the development of Chandkhuri is being done by the state government according to the environment depicted in the mythology.
During the exile, the places where the feet of Lord Rama lay, are being developed through the “Ram Vanagaman Tourism Circuit Development Project”.
75 places of Ram Vanagaman tourism circuit have been identified by Chhattisgarh Tourism Board. In the first phase, 9 sites Sitamarhi-Harchuka (Korea), Ramgarh (Sarguja), Shivrinarayan (Janjgir-Champa), Turturiya (Balodbazar), Chandkhuri (Raipur), Rajim (Gariaband), Sihawa-Saptrishi Ashram (Dhamtari), Jagdalpur (Bastar) ) and new facilities are being developed at Ramaram (Sukma) in the form of ‘Ram Vanagaman Tourism Circuit’.
The entire campus is also being beautified. Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit’s length is about 2260 km, whose construction, widening and repair work is being done expeditiously.
Work is also being done by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board for the arrangement of accommodation, food, water, parking etc. for the tourists here.
Mata Bamleshwari Devi is seated on the Dongargarh hills of the state. This hill is located in Dongargarh town of Rajnandgaon district.
This city of Maa Bamleshwari, Dongargarh has been included in the Prasad scheme by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Under this scheme, the work of systematic development of Dongargarh as an important religious place has been taken up.
Pilgrim Activity Center (facilitation center for devotees) is being constructed here for the devotees according to the design of “Sri Yantra”.
Under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, ‘Tribal Tourism Circuit’ is being developed at 13 places in Chhattisgarh namely, Jashpur, Kunkuri, Mainpat, Kamleshwarpur, Maheshpur, Kurdar, Saroddadar, Gangrel, Nathianwagaon, Kondagaon, Jagdalpur, Chitrakot and Tirathgarh are being developed under this project.
Out Of these, Kurdar Hill Eco Resort Kurdar (Bilaspur), Baiga Ethnic Resort Sarodhadadar,(Kabirdham), Dhankul ethnic resort(Kondagaon), Sharma ethnic resort(Jashpur),Hill Mayna highway treat Nathiyagaaon(kanker), Satrenga boat club and resort (korba), Way side Amenity Maheshpur(Sarguja), tourism facilities have been developed in these places.
Top Notch tourist facilities are being provided for the convenience of tourists. Resorts,Cottages,water sports are also being developed amidst the scenic beauty of the state. Along with National Parks and wildlife, the state also is a symbol of the rich folk culture of the country.
The Kutumsar caves of Bastar,Kanger Valley National Park and Chitrakote waterfalls are constantly attracting tourists from around the globe. It is worth mentioning that to provide information about the tourist spots of the state and to facilitate the movement of tourists,tourist information centres have been established in New Delhi,Gujarat and 11 other places where tourists can also avail economical tourist packages as per their convenience.
