Addressing the gathering on occasion, the Chief Minister said that leather has been important since the beginning of human civilization. Earlier people used to wear shoes and slippers made of leather.

Leather was replaced by other materials for the manufacture of shoes and slippers.

Chief Minister said that after the formation of our government, we did the work of preserving conventional businesses.

One such step is setting up Gauthans across the state. Besides, in a bid to give a better market to the products made under conventional business setup, an arrangement for better packaging and branding of the products was made.

C-Marts have been started in cities on the lines of modern showrooms for the sale of these products. Along with this, Rural Industrial Park has been established and a budget provision of Rs 600 crore has been made for its development.

This will give a boost to our traditional businesses and increase business opportunities in the rural areas.

Other representatives of the community were also present on the occasion.
