Data of Vazan Tyohar 2022 released: Malnutrition rate decreased by 2.1 percent in one year…

The Campaign for Eradication of Malnutrition, commenced on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, is yielding significant stuff.

On the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, a campaign for eradication of malnutrition is being conducted in the state.

This campaign is yielding consistent positive results. The figures of Vazan Tyohar 2022 have been released by the Women and Child Development Department, which shows a decline of 2.1 percent in the rate of malnutrition in the state in the duration of last one year.

As per the statistics of Vazan Tyohar 2019, malnutrition among children in Chhattisgarh was 23.37 percent, which decreased to 19.86 percent in the year 2021, and further declined to 17.76 percent in 2022.

Thus, there has been a decrease of 5.61 percent in the rate of malnutrition in the last three years.

It is noteworthy that Mukhya Mantri Suposhan Abhiyan has been started in the state from October 02, 2019, with the aim to get rid of malnutrition.

Under this campaign, about 02 lakh 11 thousand children of the state have come out of the cycle of malnutrition.

If we look at the figures of the report released in 2020-21 of the National Family Health Survey-5, then the rate of malnutrition in Chhattisgarh has decreased by 6.4 percent to 31.3 percent, based on the weight of the children up to 5 years.

Malnutrition rate in Chhattisgarh is comparatively less than the national rate of malnutrition i.e. 32.1 percent.
